45/25!
- On October 17, 2017
After watching various news programs off and on this past week, I decided to give myself an injection of hope by reading sections of The Constitution of the United States again. I instinctively turned to the 25th Amendment that I would like to share again. I know it’s a long shot, but if the nonsense we are enduring in our current state of the union continues, maybe courageous Congress members will hear the cries of the majority and take action to correct our situation. I refuse to give up on our representatives and I pledge to help them help us.

The Constitution of the United States
Amendment XXV
Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.
Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

My bestie, Vicki, sent me former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich’s, Newsweek article entitled The Unraveling of Donald J. Trump (Type this link into your browser http://www.newsweek.com/robert-reich-unraveling-donald-j-trump-684213). After reading it, you may want to demand that 25 kick 45 out.
But some might think and Jane Mayer’s article entitled The President Pence Delusion in The New Yorker implies that the current vice president isn’t the best default president (Type this link into your browser if you want to check it out: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/10/23/the-danger-of-president-pence).
But I have to believe that he can’t be worst than 45 who is trending toward 25. Next!
